Environment Monitoring

SMSEE conduct environmental monitoring programs to assess air quality, water quality, noise-level. This involve periodic data collection and analysis to track environmental parameters, identify potential impacts, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The company has conducted more than 270 environmental monitoring till the date.

.  These are the parameters include in the environment monitoring:

  • Ambient air quality monitoring: This involve monitoring air quality within the industry premises. Key parameters measured during air quality monitoring are sulfur dioxide (SO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOX), Carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM), Total suspended particulate matter (TSPM).
  • Boiler Emission Monitoring: This involves monitoring emission form the boiler stack. During monitoring of the boiler, particulate matter (PM), Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbon (HC), Nitrogen oxide (NOx) are measured.
  • Diesel Generator Emission Monitoring: This involves monitoring emission form the DG stack. During monitoring of the DG, particulate matter (PM) @ 12 % of CO2 is measured.
  • Noise Monitoring: The noise level are measured during day time and nigh time in all four directions of the industry. Noise meter is used to read the noise level within the industry premises.
  • Wastewater Analysis: For industries that discharge water, wastewater analysis includes monitoring of the following parameters: pH, Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen demand (COD), Total suspended solids (TSS), Oil & Greases etc.
